Release Notes: 7-4-001

Date: November 30, 2023

Overview

Welcome to the latest release of the New Equidox User Interface (UI).  We’ve moved past UI hotfixes and are resuming our normal bi-monthly release schedule.  We’ll be posting New Features, Enhancements, and Resolved Issues with each release.

We would like to send out a special thanks to all our active contributors during our Beta phases and a general thanks to all users who have submitted feedback of any kind.  We look forward to a new year with a streamlined and improved remediation process.  Thanks again!

New Features

Split Title / Owner Search on the Document List

Occasionally it is necessary for Admins to see documents imported by a specific user.  The New Equidox UI now supports this type of search.  Switching between Title or Owner search is as easy as the click of a button.

The Owner search supports partial matches and is not case sensitive, so searching for “Own”, “owner”, or even “wne” will produce the same results.

Enhancements

Improved Handling of Canva® Templated Documents

Some users have reported that documents created from Canva® templates lose their images after being exported.  We’re now automatically restreaming Canva® documents to pull Image features out of the incorrect content <P> containers and up to the root level of the PDF Content Stream. In other words, this is fixed.

Resolved Issues

Ignore Zones

Ignore Zones are a zone type that is placed on any page, but acts on every page.  Previously, these zones were hidden on any page except for the inception page.  This has been solved.

List Merge Properties

Cross-page merge properties for lists weren’t updating as intended; this has been solved.

Google Login Upload Capacity

The Google Login upload capacity has been increased to 1 Gigabyte per document.

Save Prompts on Page Navigation

Save prompts during page navigation act more smoothly and no longer prompt for Saves on an unchanged page.

Product Roadmap

WCAG 2.1 Open Enrollment

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, Equidox is offering a limited Beta enrollment for our new WCAG 2.1: Reflow-Enabled Output Engine.

Be part of the team and experience the difference reflow makes to your end users.  Our Phase 1 WCAG 2.1: Reflow Engine will be implemented side-by-side with its time-tested predecessor and can be selected for each document on a case-by-case basis.  We know it’s a Beta, so we’ve made it as easy as possible to participate.

Our Phase 1 WCAG 2.1: Reflow participants will have access to:

  • Reflow for 90% of Equidox zones.  We’re still perfecting Footnotes, Custom Graphic, and Image content.

  • Content tree reorganization.  Your Tag Tree and your Content Tree will be in sync. We’re still perfecting the Z-Reading Order.

  • Consistent behavior between Screen Readers and Text-to-Speech readers.
